K-PUREŽ
Specialty Chemicals for Electronic Applications

K-PURE Thermal Acid Generators - The K-PURE Thermal Acid Generator (TAG) product line is based upon several different sulfonic acids and three types of blocking technologies. The blocking group makes the catalyst inactive in the formulation during storage prior to use. After application exposure of the coating to elevated temperatures results in deblocking of the TAG, allowing the active acid to catalyze the desired acid catalyzed reaction. Current products deblock at temperatures between 90°C and 195°C. Products are supplied with metal content as low as 100 ppb. King has over 30 years experience in all facets of latent catalysis and can tailor specific characteristics such as the deblocking temperature for your individual application. Our technical service staff can help you select the best TAG to meet your particular performance requirements.

K-PUREŽ Hydroxyl Functional Modifiers
For Cationically Cured Epoxy Systems

K-Pure polyester polyols are unique reactive modifiers designed to improve properties of cationically cured epoxy systems. These polyester polyols have a low molecular weight and a narrow molecular weight distribution compared to traditional polyester resins. They are based on a linear, saturated aliphatic structure with pendant hydroxyl groups. In all cases, K-PURE polyols are used to improve the cured properties of epoxy systems such as hardness, flexibility, resistance and crosslinking density depending on the product selected. K-Pure CDR-3320 is a low viscosity, acetoacetate functional reactive diluent with excellent compatibility with a wide range of resins. It is also effective in amino-crosslinked
systems.

K-PUREŽ Epoxy Catalysts

K-PURE super acid catalysts are designed specifically for thermally cured epoxies. King Industries has developed a range of products to suit the needs of many different systems. From fast, low temperature cure to more latent systems which do not cure until 180°C or higher.

King has the flexibility to tailor catalysts to give you the right balance of cure and stability. The cationic mechanism also gives you the formulating latitude to take advantage of coreactants such as oxetane and vinyl ethers as well as hydroxyl functional epoxy modifiers to lower modulus, improve elongation, and vary hardness to meet the needs of today's high performance electronic applications.
